OUT AND ABOUT

Last week we were out & about this town searching for all the exhibitions we can get, we manage to see 5 of them in a week!! First stopped is at Sigi Arts for "Sorry, No Canvas Today" which is Uji 'Hahan' Handoko's solo exhibition. There's not much to say about his artwork, except that it hits you in the face.

The day after we went to a couple of exhibitions. First the "Urbantopia" photo exhibition which included the work from some of this country's best photographers: Davy Linggar, Oscar Motuloh, Agan Harahap, Jim Allen Abel, Wimo Ambala Bayang & we are proud to say Sutrisno, who is is our friend from Kelas Pagi. The North Art Space Gallery in Pasar Seni Ancol is not that easy to find we must say, but as we get there the photo works of the photographers made it worth the while. Second that day we went to Plaza Indonesia Christiana Gouw's Art Space to see some of the works from 6 bright young artist from Yogyakarta, "A Tribute to Mooi Indie" is the theme that night.

A couple of days later we took a lunch break at Senayan City to see Jerry Aurum's "In my Room" photo exhibition. Here we can see so many Indonesian Celebrity being 'captured' in their own very intimate & private place which is their bed room. But it's only too bad we find the book/ catalog from the exhibition is kind of expensive.

Last but certainly not the least of all, we feast our eyes at Mella Jaarsma's "The Fitting Room" solo exhibition at Galeri Nasional. Can't say much about this so called fashion meets installation art exhibition except that you must see it by yourself. Not to mention that the catalog is only Rp. 20.000,-!! Hope this pictures we took can tell you more about the exhibitions, we are so very sorry about all the blur & unfocused photos from the camera phone. We promise next time we'll bring proper camera. ;)
